We are currently excited about our latest efforts coming to fruition. As a result of the teacher surveys and faculty input received last year, we are offering an Inclusive Leadership Development (ILD) opportunity to interested staff. While this program will be meant for teacher professional development, parents are encouraged and welcome to join us.
Following the mission of the CARD committee in creating a welcoming and inclusive school community where everyone is able to flourish free from disrespectful or unfair treatment, ILD will provide a chance for dialogue and training that will provide improved responses and additional resources for dealing with any of the “isms”. This professional development will support ILD in sharing this information and these tools with the rest of the Ray School community.
Meyers & Munafo Consultant, Giavanna Munafo will be planning and facilitating this training. Giavanna is the former Associate Director for Training and Educational Programs at Dartmouth College’s Department of Institutional Diversity and Equity. Her training in this field emphasizes the flourishing of human dignity and the importance of respectful interactions, particularly in challenging situations.
The schedule for the ILD training will be: Session 1, 10/14, 2pm-4, Session 2, 11/18, 8am-3pm, Session 3, 1/20, 2-4, Session 4, 2/24, 2-4, Session 5, 3/31, 12-2, Session 6, 5/12 either 12:30-2:30 or 8am-3 (tbd) and Session 7 TBD. Meeting location is also to be determined (depending on group size). We are also hoping to schedule a parent evening with details and location to be determined.
