Dear Ray School Families,
Please enjoy the three day weekend while we honor our country's veterans. The second grade teachers have been working with their students over the past week to learn about Veterans Day. Students did a guided reading activity, wrote about Veterans Day, decorated the wall outside the second grade pod like Flanders Field, and established a White Table display in the Ray School front lobby. Here is a link describing the display and its importance.
Hope for Haiti Club
In collaboration with Hanover High School students, first grade students created art work this week to decorate the walls of the school being constructed in Haiti. The artwork is currently traveling to Haiti!
Please note on your calendars that 11/16 will be the final normal Singalong until we return from holiday break in January. Our music teachers will be using Singalong time to prepare for holiday concerts! Parents are invited to the K/1 Holiday Singalong Concert on 12/21. Thank you for understanding!
Holiday Concert Schedule
12/14 - 2nd/3rd Choral Concert @ 10:30-11:30
12/15 - Informal Band Concert @ 12:00
12/16 - 4th/5th Choral Concert @ 10:30-11:30

The 3 R's
We used the values of the Ray School to help guide our discussions this week about change and uncertainty. Please consider reviewing these discussion points with your children if you find it helpful.
In times of change and uncertainty, it is important to remember our core values here at the Ray School in the 3-R’s: Respect, Rights and Responsibility.
