Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! 

The Bernice A. Ray School welcomes all elementary-age children in Hanover, and Etna, New Hampshire in kindergarten through grade 5. While we are committed to maintaining a safe, healthy, and trusting environment for all children, the Ray School offers a balanced and challenging academic program and a supportive atmosphere for children of all abilities and backgrounds. To that end, we strive to provide a common vision of quality in a challenging academic learning environment which focuses on the individual student, fosters a motivation to learn, and promotes collaboration.

During the month of January and February Ray School Physical Education Department
practiced the skills for tumbling unit.

Morning playground supervision begins at 7:40am.

7:53am- Whistle blows for students to begin lining up
7:55am- Bell rings for students to enter building
8:00am- Students are in class, ready to start the day!

School begins promptly at 8:00am.


Weather Cancellation & Delays

School will be closed, or opening will be delayed, on days of severe or dangerous weather conditions. Notice of school closing or delay is posted on the WMUR website and broadcast on various radio stations by 6:15 a.m. Automated phone messages also go out to families by 6:30 a.m.

Delayed Opening. When road conditions are questionable, school opening may be delayed for two hours, to 10:00 a.m. TV and radio stations will be broadcasting the information by 6:15 a.m. 

''Delayed opening'' may later become a closing if weather conditions deteriorate. Parents should monitor radio or TV for possible changes. If school is closed, an automated phone message will be sent by 8:30 a.m. 

When opening is delayed, there will be no schoolyard supervision until 9:45 a.m. Please do not drop off students before 9:45 a.m. If you arrive for an 8:00 a.m. opening and there are few or no cars, be sure to check that school has not been delayed or canceled. 
When school opens in the morning, it will remain open all day.
